No dude you’re wrong. I cannot express how important it is that you make him the King of Wands. It is Important. He does not symbolize death. He is balance homie. He represents the war, man, Father and son. I can’t really explain it, but it’s important that you and I understand. If you want death, use Darth Maul, please. Sacrifice for a new life, Anikin gives his arm, so that Obi-Wan can guide his child. And then he has to change, so he may never see his son again.

It’s important for the meaning. These cards will have a meaning.
Build the Death star and Endor destruction’s as the Two of Pennacles. Lord of Harmonious Change. I want to help you, you just have to believe in me, because I believe in what you are doing.

Brandon,

It is nice that you feel strongly about my work, and I will publish my explanation on this page when the gaps between major arcana cards are completed. But I HAVE given a lot of thought about this card. I’ve even shown this card, at its early stages, to my friends who are initiates in orders and others who have been practicing Tarot for decades. And they love it!

So, although your offer to help is appreciated, you really don’t need to volunteer on the difficult task of making artistic decisions for me. That job is reserved for the people and companies who pay me.

The short of my artistic decision: Darth Vader is not only a character who has died (Anakin Skywalker), but lives as a bringer of death. Killing major figures of both good (Obi Wan Kenobi) and evil (The Emperor). Thus showing that the work of Death is beyond taking sides.(Okay, I know he actually took sides, but…. I’ll write a long winded essay when I get there.)

Thank you on your interpretation of Skywalker/Vader as a force of balance. It gave me an idea for another card I was having problems with.

Anyway, it is great to hear the near-mad passion in your comment and interest in my work. If you have problems with my work, then I encourage you to create your own deck.

Creating your own deck will take a long time and no one will pay you. Not to mention all the years you’ve toiled at to get to be a decent illustrator and all that Tarot study and practice. Plus, when strangers look at your work, they will only see what they want to see. They will project their anger, ego and inadequcies onto your work. Work that has nothing or very little to do with them. They will send you really strange and rude comments or even make horrible assumptions about you and post that on their blog. Why? Because the internet is a medium that makes everyone ask themselves, “Why haven’t I been consulted?” It is also a medium that’s nearly all Hod and very little Netzach.

But, my friend, if you drown out the negative voices and focus on YOUR OWN VOICE, you might just make something very very memorable. It will be something that is part you and part collective unconscious.

And all because you didn’t act like an ass-hat and designed your own tarot deck.

May the Force Be With You.
